I'm interested in the overlap and dividing lines between labour and leisure, art and life, between what is real and what isn't, between who I am and who I would like to be. My artistic practice includes formal documents, installation, performance, photography, printmaking, text, and video. My work always begins with a question, confusion, or longing that is transformed into an action or gesture. The creative process is as important as the final material outcome.
A selection of artists who inspire me is (in alphabetical order): Bas Jan Ader, Sophie Calle, Andrea Fraser, Tehching Hsieh, On Kawara, Adrian Piper, and Amalia Ulman. They inform my interest in autobiography, duration, text-as-material, and vulnerability. I try to be as sincere and close to myself as possible, hoping my work can reach a universal dimension.
